About the Programme
The successful candidates will be afforded institutionalised and on-the-job training in protection, power electronics, excitation control (AVR) and SCASS.
The training will include the testing, maintenance and commissioning of plant.
Applicants who successfully complete the recruitment process may be placed within Eskom Operations across the divisions.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be a South African citizen
- Have fully completed S4/S5/National Diploma theoretical subjects in Electrical Engineering
- Have studied Electrical Engineering – Heavy Current or Light Current
- Be willing to undergo the required recruitment process
- Be willing to be placed at Eskom operations

Training and Responsibilities
Successful candidates will receive practical training that includes:
- Protection systems
- Power electronics
- Excitation control (AVR)

- Applying theoretical knowledge in a practical plant environment
- Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation
- Using electrical test and measuring instruments
- Completing a structured training logbook
