About the Learnership

The Old Mutual Amathuba Learnership combines classroom learning with practical workplace experience over a period of 12 months.

Learners will work towards a Wealth Management NQF Level 4 qualification, which is accredited and FSP recognized. The program can provide exposure to career paths such as underwriting, financial investment advisory and insurance brokerage.

Learners will also be allocated a mentor to provide guidance throughout the program.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

Applicants must:

  • Be South African citizens
  • Be between 18 and 30 years old
  • Be currently unemployed
  • Not currently be studying toward another qualification at another educational institution
  • Have Grade 12 or an NQF Level 4 equivalent qualification
  • Have not previously participated in a Wealth Management NQF Level 4 learnership
  • Be available to start on 1 October 2026

Applicants must have achieved at least:

  • English: 50%
  • Second official language: 50%
  • Pure Mathematics: 50% or
  • Mathematical Literacy: 50%

Learnership Experience

During the 12-month program, learners will:

  • Receive workplace and classroom experience
  • Work toward the Wealth Management NQF Level 4 qualification
  • Receive guidance from an allocated mentor
  • Complete a logbook throughout the learnership
  • Gain exposure to various financial products
  • Learn about relevant legislation and business ethics
  • Participate in Corporate Social Investment projects
