Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will perform data-capturing, student-administration and records-management duties.
Key responsibilities include:
- Capturing information from available records into required systems, databases, tables and spreadsheets.
- Capturing student registrations.
- Recording receipt of payments and issuing student numbers.
- Capturing ICES, ISAT and final marks.
- Capturing enrolment forms during registration periods.
- Capturing marks on the system and submitting them to the EMIS Officer.
- Capturing student absentee information.
- Identifying and querying missing information and errors identified during data entry.
- Ensuring the integrity of captured data.
- Couriering external papers to the Department of Higher Education and Training.
- Reviewing and validating data from records.
- Completing hard-copy mark sheets.
- Preparing copies of mark sheets for use as attendance registers in examination venues.
- Receiving marks from Heads of Department.
- Receiving mark sheets and timetables from DHET.
- Updating registers and statistics.
- Submitting required data.
- Issuing mark sheets to lecturers at internal marking venues.
- Issuing proof of registration, student cards, statements of results and certificates.
- Making regular backups of data.
- Maintaining and updating system records.
- Keeping and maintaining records and files.
