Job Description:

The incumbent will be required to successfully complete a structured QCTO Occupational Qualifications in a specific listed engineering trade registered with the MQA through a tripartite Learnership Programme Agreement implemented through a structured training programme to qualify as an Artisan.

  • Occupational Certificate – Electrician (ID:91761)
  • Occupational Certificate – Fitter and Turner (ID:94020)
  • Occupational Certificate – Diesel Mechanic (ID:117237)
  • Occupational Certificate – Transportation Electrician (Auto Electrician) (ID:117042)
  • Occupational Certificate – Rigging (ID:102856)

Note: the successful 18.2 (unemployed) candidates will be required to enter into a fixed-term employment contract linked to the duration of the programme with the company for the purposes of this training opportunity.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics (not Maths Literacy), Physical Science, and English with a Minimum 40% pass in all subjects,
  • N2 with 4 subjects relevant to the trade or
  • NCV Level 3 with at least 40% in mathematics and all other relevant subjects

In addition to above minimum criteria the incumbent will also meet the following requirements:

  • Able to travel to the training Centre out of Limpopo province – company sponsored transport.
  • Successfully obtain a Red Ticket (Medical Fitness certificate) on mine.
  • Your consideration for employment is subject to your SAPS Criminal Record verification and qualifications verification.
  • Psychometric and Technical assessments.

Skills/ competencies:

  • Strong technical, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication in English.
  • Analyze and interpret information and where required be able to read engineering drawings.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team.
  • High energy with a bias towards high standards.
  • A continuous mindset.
  • Assist in building a high-performance culture.

Additional information:

  • CV’s must be accompanied with original certified proof of the minimum criteria and proof of residential address. No deviation to the minimum criteria as stipulated will be accommodated.

  • The successful applicant will be appointed on a section 18.2 four-year Learnership contract.
  • Will receive formal training at our accredited training Centre in Randfontein as well as On-the-job training at Venetia mine.
