This programme offers tourism graduates and students requiring in-service training the opportunity to gain 24 months of structured workplace experience in municipalities, tourism agencies, and wildlife reserves across KwaZulu-Natal.

Programme Overview

The Tourism Graduate Development Programme (TGDP) aims to equip unemployed tourism graduates with the practical skills needed to enter the tourism and hospitality industry.

Participants will gain:

  • Practical workplace experience
  • Professional mentorship
  • Exposure to tourism operations
  • A monthly stipend

The programme will help graduates transition from academic learning into professional employment within the tourism sector.

Minimum Requirements

  • A three-year Degree or National Diploma in Tourism or related field
  • Must be unemployed
  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Required Documents

Applicants must submit the following:

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Matric Certificate
  • Qualification certificate and academic transcript
  • Copy of South African ID
  • Proof of residence from municipality or traditional authority
  • Applicants must clearly state the reference number and placement area they are applying for.
