SANParks: CATHSSETA Field Guiding Skills| 2026 Intake Programme

Invitation from South African National Parks (SANParks), in cooperation with CATHSSETA,to South African jobless youth to apply for the Field Guiding Skills Programme 2026 Intake.

Placement: Bontebok National Park, Western Cape, South Africa

Programme: Name Field Guiding Chops Programme

Fixed Term: 18 months

  • 6 months training
  • 12 months plant placement

Pay-check:

  • R2 695 (first 6 months – training phase)
  • R3 500 (remaining 12 months – placement phase)

This programme offers a structured pathway into the eco-tourism and conservation sector, combining accredited training with hands- on exposure at Bontebok National Park.

What you will learn during the programme:

Crucial literacy Areas Include:

  • Preface to address guiding principles
  • Wildlife identification( foliage and fauna)
  • Conservation ethics and environmental mindfulness
  • Caller commerce and guiding ways
  • Safety procedures in defended areas
  • Professional conduct within public premises

NB: SANParks will cover training-affiliated trip and accommodation costs when learners attend training down from their home area.

Who can apply?

To be considered, aspirants must meet ALL the following conditions

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Be under 35 times of age
  • Have Grade 12( Matric)
  • Be jobless
  • Live within 40 – 100 km of Bontebok National Park
  • Have a clear felonious record
  • Be physically fit
  • Mustn’t have preliminarily served from SANParks chops programmes, learnerships, or externships

This programme prioritises first- time heirs to insure fair access to openings.

Needed Supporting Documents

Aspirants must submit all of the following documents:

  • Streamlined CV
  • Certified dupe of Grade 12 instrument
  • Pukka dupe of South African ID
  • Academic reiterations( if applicable)
  • Evidence of residence

Operations missing any needed documents won’t be considered.
