Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Officer Trainee: Internship Programme

The City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality, Public Safety Department ( JMPD) is embarking on a training programme and successful  aspirants will   suffer  violent training where they will have an  occasion to come  Metropolitan Police Officers.

Minimal Conditions 

The Applicant must:

  • Be a South African citizen.
  • Be in possession of a valid Senior Certificate( Grade 12/ original NQF  position 4).
  • Be  fireside within the  governance of the Johannesburg Metropolitan area  aspirants must  give original  evidence of  hearthstone).
  • Have no felonious conviction/ record.
  • Be prepared to allow biometric data and other information to be taken for  purposes of checking for a felonious record.
  • Have a driver’s License (No Learner’s license), minimal Code B.
  • Between the periods of 18 – 35 Years.
  • Be physically and mentally fit. (A Comprehensive Medical Certificate must be  submitted together with the  operation).
  • Be suitable to subdue themselves to and successfully complete a pre-training fitness  assessment.
  • Have no civil judgment( s) relating to fraud and/ or corruption against his/ her  name.
  • Be prepared to suffer vetting processes.
  • Be complete in English.
  • Have no expostulation and be prepared to carry an arm and must wear a livery.  

Particular Attributes: 

The contestant should be  dependable, honest, have the loftiest sense of justice and  integrity, have a positive  station, be patient, and be  suitable to work under pressure,  under all rainfall conditions and shift hours. 

Terms of Training:

Metropolitan Police Officer Trainees will be anticipated to suffer 18 months of training, and upon successful completion, will be considered for appointment as Metropolitan  Police Officers.  For the duration of the training, trainees will be subordinated to the terms of training contracts, Academy rules, and RTMC training policy. Trainees will admit a pay-check as per the City’s Policy. 

Upon completion of training:

As a good Metropolitan Police Officer, the contestant must take the pledge of office as determined by the megacity and will be stationed to any area within the City of Johannesburg.
