What’s the Deal?
This is not just an internship; it is your launchpad into the world of butchery. At Pick n Pay, we believe that learning the ropes (and the ribs!) of butchery is about more than just cutting meat, it is about building real skills, growing your career and becoming part of a proud, skilled crew. We are not just developing meat masters we are crafting future artisans with confidence, purpose, and passion.
What will you learn?
- Meat Mastery: Cut, trim, portion and prep like a pro, even sausages and cold cuts!
- Packaging and Display: Weigh, wrap and showcase the goods like it is your art gallery.
- Hygiene and Safety: Keep it clean, gear up right and handle tools like a champ.
- Operations Flow: Restock, run the floor and use cool kit (yes, even band saws).
- Customer Vibes: Own the counter, guide customers, and dish out expert meat tips.
We are Looking For:
- Unemployed youth (18–34 years old)
- Hardy and ready for a challenge
- Comfortable working with your hands and on your feet
- Passionate about food and eager to learn
