merSETA Administrator Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
Qualification Requirements
A 3-Year Diploma (NQF Level 6) or equivalent qualification in one of the following fields:
- Accounting
- Financial Management
- Cost and Management Accounting
- Bookkeeping
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Finance, Accounting or Bookkeeping within a Grants or Levies environment
Added Advantage
The following will be advantageous:
- A Bachelor of Commerce Degree (NQF Level 7) in Accounting, Financial Management, Management Accounting, Cost & Management Accounting or Bookkeeping
- More than 3 years’ relevant experience in a Grants or Levies environment
- Understanding of the SETA financial environment, including grant payment systems
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Maintaining levy income schedules and reconciling receipts from DHET
- Assisting with processing mandatory grant payments
- Managing discretionary grant commitment registers
- Recovering overpayments on grants
- Supporting debt recovery processes and stakeholder engagement
- Preparing monthly reports and schedules for management reporting
- Completing general ledger reconciliations
- Ensuring accurate record keeping and administration of financial information
- Supporting internal and external audit queries
- Processing inter-SETA transactions where required
