The Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services Sector Education and Training Authority (merSETA) is inviting qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the Administrator: Grants & Levies – Commitments Schedule (C2) position at its Head Office.

Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract (6 Months)

Placement: Head Office

Remuneration: R37, 300.89 per month

Best Before: 03 June 2026

merSETA Administrator Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

Qualification Requirements

A 3-Year Diploma (NQF Level 6) or equivalent qualification in one of the following fields:

  • Accounting
  • Financial Management
  • Cost and Management Accounting
  • Bookkeeping

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Finance, Accounting or Bookkeeping within a Grants or Levies environment

Added Advantage

The following will be advantageous:

  • A Bachelor of Commerce Degree (NQF Level 7) in Accounting, Financial Management, Management Accounting, Cost & Management Accounting or Bookkeeping
  • More than 3 years’ relevant experience in a Grants or Levies environment
  • Understanding of the SETA financial environment, including grant payment systems

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining levy income schedules and reconciling receipts from DHET
  • Assisting with processing mandatory grant payments
  • Managing discretionary grant commitment registers
  • Recovering overpayments on grants
  • Supporting debt recovery processes and stakeholder engagement
  • Preparing monthly reports and schedules for management reporting
  • Completing general ledger reconciliations
  • Ensuring accurate record keeping and administration of financial information
  • Supporting internal and external audit queries
  • Processing inter-SETA transactions where required
