The Limpopo Office of the Premier, in partnership with the Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA), has introduced the Limpopo CETA-Funded Short Skills and Learnerships 2025. This initiative is focused on providing 200 unemployed individuals with free access to skills development and workplace training in the construction industry.

Placement: Limpopo Province

Duration: 12 months (Full-time participation required)

What is the Limpopo CETA-Funded Learnership Programme?

This is a 12-month, fully funded training programme aimed at young unemployed South Africans residing in Limpopo. The programme combines practical hands-on training with theoretical classroom instruction to prepare learners for real-world work in the construction industry.

Participants will receive a monthly allowance to support their living expenses while they train.

Requirements

This programme is best suited for young adults who meet the following criteria:

Must be a South African citizen living in Limpopo
Must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years
Must have completed at least Grade 9
Must be unemployed at the time of applying

Courses Available

A total of 200 spaces are available across four vital trades in the construction sector, each with 50 positions:

Plumbing (Ref – OTP/CETA25/02)
Bricklaying (Ref – OTP/CETA25/03)
Electrical Work (Ref – OTP/CETA25/04)
Carpentry (Ref – OTP/CETA25/05)

These fields were selected due to the high demand for skilled professionals and the potential for long-term job creation.

Duration and Allowance

The Short Skills Programmes will run over a period of three months, during which each participant will receive a monthly allowance of R1,500. This is intended to cover transport and daily expenses while attending training.

Can I apply if I did a learnership before?

Not if it was in the construction field or funded by the same sector. You must not be currently enrolled in another learnership.
