Job Title: Apprenticeship Programme: Millwright, Auto Electrician, Fitter & Turner

Band Level:  00

Division: L & D – Technical Training Centre

Purpose:

This is an Apprenticeship Programme where participants will receive training in one of the following trades, Millwright, Auto Electrician, Fitter & Turner discipline.

Successful participants will be employed in an hourly position for the duration of the programme (4 years).

Permanent employment at the end of the program is not guaranteed, as placements are contingent upon available vacancies.

Qualifications and Experience:

Millwright

  • NTC3 Electrical/Mechanical, Maths, Eng Science or Technical Matric with Maths (Pure Maths), Engineering Science, Electrical Trade Theory or Mechanical Trade Theory, Technical Drawing, Graphical Design.
  • Workshop experience in the trade related discipline (advantageous).

Auto Electrician

  • NTC3 Auto Electrical Trade Theory or Technical Matric with Maths (Pure Maths), Eng. Science, Auto Electrical Trade Theory, Technical Drawing/ Graphical Design.
  • Workshop experience in the trade related discipline (advantageous).

Fitter & Turner

  • NTC3 Mechanical Trade Theory, Maths, Eng. Science, or Technical Matric with Maths (Pure Maths), Eng. Science, Mechanical Trade Theory, Technical Drawing/ Graphical Design.
  • Workshop experience in the trade related discipline (advantageous).
