The six apprenticeship opportunities are available in the following trades:
- Mechanical Fitter – 2 positions
- Electrical – 2 positions
- Fitter & Turner – 2 positions
Nampak Apprenticeship Requirements
The ideal candidate should have:
- Matric with Mathematics, Physical Science and English as a second language, with a minimum 50% pass mark
- Certificate and results/transcript for NTC3 or higher
- Minimum NTC3 Engineering, with relevant trade theory as a subject
- A good engineering understanding at a basic level
- Team orientation and good organisational skills
- Basic computer literacy
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- A positive attitude
- Ability to use own initiative
- Ability to work effectively within a team
- Ability to work overtime and shifts when required
Key Responsibilities
Successful apprentices will be expected to:
- Complete all required theoretical modules for the trade
- Undergo intensive on-the-job training and other related training
- Provide support to the production process with adequate levels of availability and reliability
- Demonstrate the ability to practically conduct maintenance and installations
- Acquire problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Adhere to plant rules, regulations and safety requirements
- Work effectively within a team-based environment
