NSFAS TVET Application 2026 Windows

NSFAS is hereby notifying all students that Bursary application windows for Second and Third Trimester are now open; apply as soon as you can.

The remaining 2026 NSFAS TVET funding application periods are as follows:

  • Trimester 2:

Applications open on 06 May 2026 and close on 18 May 2026

  • Semester2.

Applications open on 01 July 2026 and close on 17 July 2026

Occupational Programmes-2nd Intake (OQ2):

Applications open on 01 July 2026 and close on 17 July 2026

  • Trimester 3:

Applications open on 03 September 2026 and close on 14 September 2026

NSFAS-Covered TVET Programmes

NSFAS covers many TVET programmes, such as:

  • NC(V) Levels 2–4
  • NATED/Report 191 courses from N1 to N6
  • Trimester and semester programmes
  • Selected occupational courses at public TVET Colleges

If your course is accredited and approved, NSFAS will usually fund it.

Who Qualifies for NSFAS in TVET Colleges?

You may qualify for NSFAS if:

  • You’re a South African citizen
  • Your household earns R350,000 or less per year
  • You want to study at a public TVET College
  • Your ID matches Home Affairs
  • You meet the academic requirements
  • You have your own phone number and email

If you’re a returning student, you can keep getting funding as long as you pass your modules and meet NSFAS progression rules.

How to apply for NSFAS TVET Application 2026 Windows

All applications for NSFAS TVET funding for the 2026 academic year shall be submitted online via the official NSFAS website.

Crucial Matters:

  • Students are responsible for completing their own applications.
  • Colleges are hereby instructed to ensure that new applicants are clearly informed that:
  • Creating an online profile does not constitute a submitted application
  • Applicants must complete all required steps and formally submit their application for it to be considered valid.
  • Applications submitted for incorrect cycles will not be considered

  • TVET Colleges are required to:
  • Disseminate this circular to all campuses.
  • Student Support Services, and Financial Aid Offices without delay.
  • Actively communicate application windows to all prospective and registered students.
  • Colleges must ensure that students apply only for the academic cycle in which they intend to register.
