About the Programme
An internship is a programme which provides on the job training for jobless graduates who need to gain work experience. The Discovery Internship Programme was launched in 2006 and we’ve successfully developed and changed the lives of over 480 graduates, with an average endless placement of 71 post an internship. You’ll be awarded an occasion to join the smartest platoon in the assiduity and be prepared to enter any fast- paced work terrain after your 12 months with Discovery.
Crucial Purpose of the part
The programme is designed to give practical exposure and support to the Group Life Operations platoon by aiding with crucial executive functions across multiple areas, including underwriting, GEP, lump sum claims, billing, disability operation, and back- office administration. Interns will gain hands- on experience in functional processes, contributing to effectiveness and delicacy while developing foundational knowledge of group life insurance practices.
Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to:
The successful aspirant will be responsible for but not limited to the following job functions:
- Prepare Broker Reports collect accurate reports using internal systems ( SFE and Compass).
- Index Documentation insure work particulars are rightly listed on the applicable system.
- Medical Conditions Collaboration shoot requests for medical conditions to brokers or Service Advisers for members exceeding the free cover limit.
- Member On-boarding cargo member details onto the system and coordinate with the Smart Service platoon for nanny – completed medical attestation.
- Billing operation Manage a billing portfolio of 30 – 40 disbenefit Order schemes or 25 – 35 EFT schemes( Standard Schemes).
- Work Pool Management Monitor and manage work particulars in line with agreed Service position Agreements( SLAs).
- Claims Assessment Assist in assessing new announcement claims under close supervision of the Team Leader/ functional Specialist.
- Claims Communication Support the allocation of memorial dispatches for pending Global Education Protector( GEP) claims.
- Reporting lift in collecting reports related to Global Education Protector( GEP) claims.
Education and Experience
- Matric/ Grade 12 is essential.
- BCom Degree or Honours
- Specific Conditions
- No former externship and or graduate programme in any assiduity or government institution
- No work experience( Essential)
- Between the periods of 18 – 30( Essential)
- You must be a South African Citizen by Birth or by naturalization before the 27th April 1994.
