Sandown Motor Holdings (SMH) an attachment of Daimler Truck Southern Africa Ltd is agitated to advertise a grueling occasion for a dynamic and motivated Diesel Mechanic Apprentice to join our platoon at the Centurion Sandown Workshop. SMH is looking for a seeker who has a passion for marketable vehicles and is aspiring to come a good Diesel Technician.

Job Overview

To give an occasion to grow in diesel automatic trade field, seeker will be working under supervision of a good Technician.

Crucial Duties and Liabilities

Conservation support:

  • Insure work carried out are authorized by applicable stakeholders.
  • Meet DTSA specified flat rate times for repairs and services conducted as minimal standard by applying specialized chops productive and efficiently.
  • Carry out repairs as per job card.
  • Seek administrative support and advice if and when necessary, during repairs.

Client Service

  • Insure utmost care is taken of client vehicle and property.
  • Insure client care norms are met at all times.
  • Informing Forman and Service Advisor of any implicit issues and detainments.
  • Insure seat covers are used at all times.
  • Apply quality workmanship and at all times.
  • Insure all work is carried out according to DTSA quality norms.
  • Secure habituated corridor that have been replaced and insure vacuity to the client for examination.

Administration and bring control

  • Complete job cards directly.
  • Conduct fault finding and report to applicable stakeholders.
  • Cleave to DTSA bond, conservation, and dealer norms.
  • Insure hours worked on a vehicle are directly recorded. In case of the time not being clocked, it must be noted in writing on the job card and inked off by the chief.
  • Record all material operation directly.
  • Attach ‘picking slip/ s’ to the job card.
  • Cleave to bond and line conservation corridor control systems (hand- in bond/ conservation contract corridor for safe storehouse.
  • Insure utmost care is taken during service and/ or form of vehicles to avoid any damage to vehicles and factors.
  • Minimize destruction of all accoutrements, canvases, and fluids.
  • Submit job card with applicable documents attached incontinently after completion of job.

Housekeeping, Statutory and SHE adherence

  • Insure the correct tools and outfit are used as per DTSA form instructions, used rightly and the necessary care is taken to avoid abuse thereof.
  • Maintain and secure hand tools handed as specified DTSA guidelines for learners apprentices.
  • Always maintain good housekeeping principles at all times.
  • Insure work bay is neat and organized at all times.
  • Misbehave with and cleave to all applicable SHE and other statutory conditions at all times.
  • Familiarize and misbehave with all applicable company programs and procedures.

Tone- Development

  • Take particular responsibility for literacy and development through a process of assessment, reflection, and actioning. This can include both on and/ or off the job training.
  • Cleave to learnership/ internship agreements with MERSETA.
  • Insure all training assessment portfolios are submitted in time.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics, Science & English / Technical Matric / N2 in Mechanical Engineering/ N2 Diesel – Motor Mechanic
  • Computer Literacy
  • Technical Knowledge

  • Knowledge of commercial vehicles and related automotive knowledge.
