The City of Johannesburg ( CoJ), Community Development Department has the following internship occasion available for a period NOT exceeding eighteen 18 months.

Designation: externship Integrated Planning, Policy and Research

Remuneration:

  • Qualification completed with min 360 credits) R10 109,86 pm( Basic Salary, no benefits

Placement: Region C

Minimal Conditions

  • Matric/ Grade 12 (NQF position 4) plus a Bachelor’s Degree( NQF position 7) in Public Management, Development Studies, Political Studies or affiliated field;
  • Only City of Johannesburg residers will be considered.

Primary Function

Give logical, exploration, and collaboration support to the integrated Planning, Policy and exploration( IPPR) Directorate within the department of Community Development. Develop practical chops in policy strategic planning performance monitoring, and data analysis to enhance substantiation- grounded decision- timber. Contribute to the expression and perpetration of departmental programs and performance frame that support effective governance and service delivery across the department.

Key Learning Areas

  • Conduct exploration, reviews and analysis of policy, legislative and strategic documents
  • Help in business planning and verification and performance for departmental and City scorecards
  • Support facilitation, attestation and analysis of stakeholder inputs for policy and planning processes
  • Support collection, analysis and donation of policy and performance data for reporting and decision- timber
  • Give executive, logistical and record keeping support for IPPR operation and governance compliance.

Leading Capabilities

  • Capability in MS Excel and Power BI( or equivale3ent tools for data visualization)
  • Research, data analysis and report- jotting chops
  • Communication and donation chops( oral and spoken)
  • Organizational, executive and collaboration chops
  • Attention to detail and logical logic
  • Operation to Batho Pele Principles and professional ethics.

Core Capabilities

  • Understanding of policy development cycles, exploration design, and substantiation- grounded decision timber
  • Familiarity with external governance frame, the Municipal Systems Act( MSA) and the External Finance Management Act( MFMA)
  • Introductory understanding of performance operation, SDBIP, and IDP alignment
  • Knowledge of stakeholder discussion, data analysis and donation ways.

Core Competencies:

  • Understanding of policy development cycles, research design, and evidence-based decision making
  • Familiarity with municipal governance framework, the Municipal Systems Act (MSA) and the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA)
  • Basic understanding of performance management, SDBIP, and IDP alignment
  • Knowledge of stakeholder consultation, data analysis and presentation techniques.
