The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened applications for Trimester 2nd  funding.

Placement: South Africa (TVET Colleges Only)

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened applications for Trimester 2nd funding. This funding cycle is specifically for students currently studying or planning to study at a TVET College. University students are not eligible to apply during this period; university applications will open later in the year.

Trimester 2nd NSFAS Application Dates:

Start Date: 12 May 2025

Due Date: 23 May 2025

Who Should Apply?

South African citizens studying or intending to study a:

  • Pre-Vocational Learning Programme (PLP)
  • National Certificate (Vocational) [NC(V)]
  • Report 191 programme

NSFAS Eligibility Criteria:

Combined family income must not exceed R350, 000 per year for bursaries, or R600 ,000 for a loan

  • Must comply with the N+ Rule
  • Must not be enrolled in a qualification that duplicates prior state-funded learning

How to Apply for NSFAS Trimester 2 Funding:

Step 1: Visit MYNSFAS ACCOUNT

Step 2: Create a myNSFAS account (if you don’t have one)

Step 3: Click on ‘Apply’ and complete the application

Step 4: Upload your supporting documents (e.g., ID, proof of income, academic results)

Step 5: Click ‘Submit’

Don’t miss this opportunity to get funding for your studies — make sure to apply before the 23 May 2025 deadline!

  • Retrenchment letter
  • Death certificate/s
  • Divorce Decree
  • Proof of legal guardianship
  • Marriage certificate
  • other documents may be required for appeal purposes,….eg retrenchment letter
