Transnet Freight Rail (TFR) is offering an exciting opportunity for General Worker x 60 positions on a Fixed Term Contract within their Track Engineering Works department. This position is based in Loeriesfontein and will run from 01 April 2025 to 25 March 2026.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist RNC construction teams during maintenance and construction works in Track Engineering.
- Perform general worker duties to ensure the effective and efficient completion of work.
Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies Required:
- Experience: Minimum of 6 months of relevant experience.
- Education: Minimum Grade 9.
- Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): Preferred.
- Skills:
- Knowledge of the construction working environment.
- Understanding of relevant tools, equipment, and materials.
- Physically and medically fit for the role.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to distinguish and correctly use tools, equipment, and materials for specific tasks.
Key Accountabilities:
- Handling, loading, and offloading materials.
- Identifying different types of materials and tools.
- Using materials to execute tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
- Understanding and following task sequences given by the Supervisor.
- Performing trench excavations and handling or laying services to trenches, followed by backfilling.
- Supporting and obeying instructions received from the Supervisor.
- Cleaning the site by removing weeds, stacking materials, sweeping floors, and disposing of excess or rubble materials.
- Ability to use hand tools (non-mechanised) in the construction environment.
- Ability to use hand tools and/or mechanised equipment in the construction environment.
