Directorate Technical Services

1. Post: Two Electrical Interns

Duration: 10 months fixed term contract

Remuneration: R10 000.00 per month.

  • National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or any original and applicable qualification.
  • Good Communication Chops
  • Valid Driver’s license

3. Crucial Performance Areas

  • The Interns will be in planning, scheduling and coordinating EEDSM design conditioning.
  • Collect and assay data related to energy consumption and effectiveness.
  • Support the development and perpetration of innovative results to ameliorate energy effectiveness
  • Support the medication of specialized specifications for energy-effective outfit.
  • Prepare detailed reports recapitulating findings, recommendations, and projected savings
  • Coordinate with contractors, merchandisers, and external staff to insure design alignment and progress.
  • entering instruction from the immediate superior on the layout and the prosecution of specific work sequences
  • Operating hand held outfit( Jack- Hammer, etc.) to cut through concrete/ tarred shells
  • Laying cables and positioning supporting structures (poles) and cleaning and tinning of conductors, binding and strapping, stripping of individual conductors.
  • Attending to the erection and installation sequences of poles, cross waves, stays, lines, aerial transformers, switchgear, etc. using hand held power tools to drill and mount junction boxes, brackets, cable trays, racks, etc. and tighten screws and bolts.
  • Terminating cables, wires etc. to junction boxes, connecting blocks and/ or terminals including soldering, fitting of lugs and harnessing wires.

Campaigners must be willing to be subordinated to an interview and evaluation process and be apprehensive that former employers and references may be communicated and their qualifications, credit record may be vindicated and they will be subordinated to a police security concurrence.
