Mangosuthu University of Technology ( MUT) is looking for scholars to help other scholars learn in 2026. We need people who are doing well in their studies and who want to partake their knowledge. These places are called “Peer supported Learning( confidante) Pupil sidekicks” or simply tutors. However, this could be a great fit for you, If you like tutoring and want a part ‑ time job that fits around your classes.
What the Programme Does
- The PAL programme is a platoon of teachers who run study groups and help classmates understand their courses. The end is to make literacy easier and to keep scholars interested in their studies. PAL teachers work with a schoolteacher who tells them how to run a good session and what to concentrate on. Their job is to explain tricky corridor of a subject and show classmates good ways to study.
Main Duties
- Hold group study sessions that follow a clear plan set by your educator.
- Help classmates understand the material and pick up useful study habits.
- Work with preceptors and other confidante leaders to keep track of who comes to each session and how engaged they are.
- Tell preceptors what scholars are chancing hard or what ideas help them study better.
- Write down attendance records directly and turn them into reports for the department.
- Make sure everyone feels welcome and comfortable asking questions.
Who Can Apply?
You must:
- Be a full ‑ time pupil at MUT or have finished your degree then lately.
- Have passed the module (s) that you would like to tutor.
- Have an average score of at least 65% in the applicable subjects.
- Be good at talking with others and explaining ideas.
- Really watch about doing well in academy and helping classmates succeed.
Pay and Contract
- Your pay will depend on your experience and the number of hours you work for each module.
- Contract dates From March 2026 to December 2026.
- No other benefits are included with this part.

- Evidence that you have a bank account and a recent duty statement from the South African Revenue Service.
