Saldanha Bay Municipality: Trainee Traffic Officer & Learner Law Enforcement Officer (Databases)

Saldanha Bay Municipality is seeking competent and committed individuals to be added to their database for temporary appointments. The database will be valid for one year and will serve as a source document for temporary positions across various departments as needed.

Placement: Saldanha Bay Municipality, Western Cape

Eligibility:

  • Residency: Candidates must reside within the jurisdiction of the Saldanha Bay Municipality. Proof of address will be required.

Directorate: Corporate and Public Safety Services
Department: Public Safety Services

  1. Trainee Traffic Officer
    • Duties: Enforce applicable legislation (NRTA 93/96 & NLTA 5/2009), enforce municipal by-laws, execute traffic plans and programs.
    • Requirements:
      • Grade 12
      • Code B driving license
      • Relevant Traffic Warden qualification
      • 0-2 years of traffic warden experience
      • No criminal record
      • Physically and mentally fit
      • Firearm proficiency (advantageous)

  2. Learner Law Enforcement Officer
    • Duties: Conduct patrols to prevent crimes, respond to calls, assess emergencies, control critical incidents, and enforce laws and regulations.
    • Requirements:
      • Grade 12
      • Basic Law Enforcement qualification/Peace Officer (Traffic Warden, Traffic Officer, or SAPS) from an accredited training institution
      • Code B driving license
      • No criminal record
      • Firearm proficiency (advantageous)
      • 0-2 years of relevant experience
