This large-scale, province-wide agricultural placement programme will run during the 2026-2028 financial years and is aimed at giving youths real farm-based experience in crops, livestock, citrus, poultry, subtropical farming and mixed farming enterprises.
Remuneration: R7 860,50.

Minimum Requirements
Minimum Qualification
- Grade 12, plus
- NQF Level 6 qualification or higher (Diploma or Degree) in Agriculture or related fields, recognised by SAQA
- Priority Conditions (Very Important)
- Preference is given to Limpopo-based unemployed graduates
- Applicants must be entering a government internship/developmental programme for the first time
- Applicants who already participated in a government internship with a PERSAL number for 12+ months will be automatically disqualified
Equity Targets
- 50–55% women
- 80% youth (18–35 years)
- 20% graduates aged 36–40
- 3% persons with disabilities
Other Conditions
- Private studies are not allowed during the programme
- Willingness to work abnormal hours is required
- Fixed-term contract not exceeding 24 months
- Placement will be done according to district of residence and departmental needs
Duties
- Farm management support
- Crop scouting and monitoring
- Livestock disease control
- Dipping and dosing of animals
- Livestock identification
- Spraying operations
- Record keeping and reporting
- Packaging, loading and off-loading produce
- Marketing of agricultural products
- Identifying new markets
- Supervising workers
- Assisting with farm and production plans
