Placement: Table Mountain National Park.

Successful candidates will report to the relevant Line Manager. The successful candidate will have to provide their own accommodation as there is no official accommodation in the park.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or NCV Level 4.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge of the relevant legislation, NEM: Protected Areas Act, National Heritage Resources Act, NEM: Biodiversity Act, Criminal Procedure Act, Integrated Coastal Management Act, Marine Living Resources Act and the regulations promulgated there under, Public Finance Management Act.
  • Intermediate – Advanced Computer literacy – Microsoft Office, especially MS Word, Excel and Power point (computer assessments to be conducted).
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills are a prerequisite.
  • Clear Criminal Record (candidates will be screened).
  • Willingness to undergo polygraph tests.
  • Ability to work across teams.
  • Analytical/technical mind set.
  • Availability to work flexible hours e.g. weekends, public holidays as and when required.

The following will be an added advantage:

  • Environmental Management Inspector designation.
  • Working knowledge of ArcGIS or QGIS software.
  • Valid code 8 driver’s license.

  • The remuneration package includes a basic salary, based on the salary scale of a position with a Paterson B3 job grade and allowances and benefits as specified in the Conditions of Service of SANParks.

Placement: Golden Gate Highlands National Park: Gladstone Section, for a General Worker in the Conservation Department based at the Stables.

The successful candidates will report to the Field Ranger Corporal.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 certificate (Std 10) required or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken, read, and written) as well as any additional language.
  • Must be physically fit (fitness test to be conducted).
  • Chainsaw and Brushcutter experience, attach certificate or competency.
  • Experience in horse riding, working at a Stable and saddling horses.

Added Advantage:

  • Exposure to nature conservation related work (invasive plant clearing, integrated fire management that includes wildfire suppression, implementation of firebreaks, prescribed burns).
  • Basic Firefighting Certificate.
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act).
  • Knowledge of Laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards relevant to the field.
  • Certificate in Basic First Aid.

  • Manager: Supply Chain Management

SANParks requires the services of a Manager: Supply Chain Management based in the Kruger National Park (KNP – Skukuza) to oversee and drive the SCM team under Finance & SCM Management.

The ideal Candidate for the role will have experience in leading and managing a wide range of SCM operations in Finance and SCM Management, both at Operational and strategic levels in a similar entity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in: Supply Chain Management / Logistics / Commerce
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), Certified Professional in Supply Chain Management (CPSM), Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), or Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) can be beneficial.
  • 5-7 years of experience in supply chain management with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role working in or within public sector organisation.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective supply chain strategies that align with good organisational goals.
  • Understanding of procurement policies and compliance requirements.
  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain management processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to optimise supply chain management operations.
  • Strong leadership skills to manage teams, projects, and cross functional initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with various stakeholders, including officials, suppliers and team members.
  • Experience in managing relationships with suppliers and negotiating contracts.
  • Ability to manage budgets and financial aspects of supply chain management operations.
  • Commitment to driving continuous improvement and efficiency in supply chain management processes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct data capturing from various sources onto Cmore and other software platforms.
  • Assist with the analysis of data to guide reactive and proactive law enforcement interventions.
  • Ensure efficient and accurate information management.
  • Monitor the technology feeds in the Operations Room.
  • Support and ensure efficient operational control measures are in place, aligned to safety & security and the relevant operational plans.
  • Capture information on the relevant systems.
  • Assist with fielding reports and information received in the Operations Room to operators.
  • Assist the Operations Room Control Officer with logistics and deployments by the SEAM Team when necessary.
  • Support internal and external stakeholder liaison.
  • Provide administration and procurement support to the unit.
  • Assist with internal training when required.
