South Deep Gold Mine is offering aspiring workers and or prospective aspirants from within our Host Communities interested in pursuing a career in Mining, the occasion to enter into a formal Learner Miner Learnership programme.
To qualify as an Applicant from a Host Community you would need to either Be an occupant of one of our Host Communities being Bekkersdaal, Zuurberkom, Thusanang, Hillshaven, Westonaria, Poortjie, Simunye, Kalbasfontein or Jachtfontein, or Successfully passed Grade 12 and or matric at a academy positioned within one of the said Host Communities mentioned hereinabove. The programme offers practical work- grounded training to enable learners to acclimatize effectively in the world of work and to be exploitable at the end of their programme
Minimal Conditions
- Grade 12 (NQF 4) or original qualification being an N3( with two languages passed)
- Minimal 2 times’ experience in a mining operation
- Be declared medically fit for the position and terrain, as determined by a threat- grounded medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre
- Heat Forbearance Webbing test, and similar other tests as may be needed to assess the aspirant’s felicity for employment
Crucial Capabilities
- Abide by all health and safety rules regulations applicable on the mine witnessing specialized training as specified by MQA/ DMRE during the Training Programme
- Maintain harmonious performance as per listed specialized evaluation cycles
- Take particular responsibility for driving own career development and initiating experimental conversations laboriously engage with HRD and specialized oversight platoon to gain feedback
- Cleave to the company’s conditions of employment, programs and law of conduct
- Promoting cooperation and being an effective platoon member
- Abide by the values of South Deep Gold Mine i.e. safety, integrity, respect, responsibility, invention, and cooperative delivery
- Complete in English oral and spoken communication chops
