This apprenticeship offers a solid foundation for hands-on learning, professional growth and technical development within a structured training programme.

  • Boilermaker Apprentice

Purpose of the role:

To receive practical and theoretical training in boilermaking processes, metalwork and plate fabrication under the supervision of a qualified artisan. As the apprenticeship progresses, the candidate will gain more independence and take on increasingly complex tasks.

Practical Training:

  • Complete tasks and instructions as assigned
  • Assist with fitting and fabricating boiler components
  • Clean and prepare work areas and parts
  • Care for tools and equipment
  • Apply knowledge acquired during training
  • Complete practical modules

Theoretical training:

  • Attend theoretical training sessions
  • Complete relevant subjects toward qualification
  • Apply theory to practice
  • Complete theoretical modules

Minimum requirements:

  • Grade 12 (national senior certificate)
  • N3 qualification or relevant technical subjects completed to grade 12 level (advantageous)
  • Good manual dexterity and sound judgement
  • Strong numerical skills and the ability to interpret technical drawings
  • Ability to identify and report issues or defective equipment
  • Must be able to speak, read and write Afrikaans and/or English
  • Medically fit for physical work
  • Mechanical Apprentice: Fitter and Turner

Purpose of the role:

To receive practical and theoretical training under the supervision of a qualified artisan, with growing independence and task complexity as the apprenticeship progresses.

Practical training:

  • Perform tasks and instructions as assigned
  • Assist with fitting and maintenance of parts and equipment
  • Clean and maintain tools and components
  • Apply acquired knowledge in real-life situations
  • Complete practical modules

Theoretical training:

  • Attend theoretical training sessions
  • Complete required subjects for qualification
  • Work through theoretical modules
  • Implement theory in practice

Minimum requirements:

  • Grade 12 (national senior certificate)
  • N3 qualification or relevant technical subjects completed up to Grade 12 level (advantageous)
  • Strong manual dexterity and practical insight
  • Good numerical and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings
  • Proficiency in Afrikaans and/or English (spoken and written)
  • Medically fit for physical work

  • Strong practical judgement and manual skills
  • Good numerical and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to interpret networks and flow diagrams
  • Proficiency in Afrikaans and/or English (spoken and written)
  • Medically fit for physical work
