Purpose of the Role
The learnership programme is designed to provide institutional learning and practical workplace exposure, ultimately leading to an artisan qualification at NQF Level 3–4. This opportunity aims to meet the mining industry’s skills development needs while empowering unemployed youth with certified technical qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to all requirements stated in the apprenticeship learning agreement
- Commit to both on-the-job and classroom-based training over a 3-year period
- Demonstrate skills progression and competence throughout the programme
- Apply trade-specific knowledge in real-world mining and engineering settings
- Take personal responsibility for learning, asking questions, and seeking mentorship
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 Certificate with Mathematics and Natural Science
OR - N2 Certificate with 4 trade-specific subjects
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Willingness to learn and engage in both theoretical and practical training
- A strong commitment to completing the 3-year learnership programme
