What the Apprenticeship Offers?
This welding apprenticeship programme combines classroom-based learning with practical, on-the-job training. Apprentices will gain industry-relevant skills that can lead to full trade qualifications and employment in the manufacturing or construction sectors.
Who Can Apply?
Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Residency Requirement:
You must be a permanent resident of one of the following municipalities:
- Govan Mbeki Municipality
- Lekwa Municipality
- Dipaleseng Municipality
Minimum Academic Requirements:
Option 1:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- English (read and write)
- Pure Mathematics (Mathematical Literacy will not be accepted
- Physical Science
OR
Option 2:
- N3 Certificate
- N3 Engineering Mathematics
- N3 Engineering Science
- Trade-related Theory Subject (Welding/Platers Theory – mandatory)
OR
Option 3:
- NCV Level 4
- English or First Additional Language
- Mathematics (Pure)
- Engineering Science or Engineering Processes
- Engineering Practice or Technology
Added Advantages (Not Mandatory):
- Engineering Graphics and Design (EGD)
- Other welding-related technical subjects
