Linde + Wiemann RSA is currently inviting applications from graduates for a one-year Graduate Development Programme. We are seeking five (5) talented individuals in the following departments:

  • Plant
  • Quality
  • Maintenance
  • Manufacturing Engineering (x2)

Programme Duration: 1 (ONE) year Graduate Development Programme.

This programme is designed to transform graduates into high-performing professionals, equipping them to make meaningful contributions to the economy of the country. Graduates will have the opportunity to gain work exposure and receive on-the-job training at our East London Plant.

What to Expect in the Twelve Months:

Graduate trainees will be monitored throughout the 12-month period and will receive mentorship and coaching from the relevant Department Manager.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be considered for this programme, you need to:

  1. Have completed a degree or diploma-level qualification.
  2. Have 1 – 2 years of work experience in the relevant field of study (advantageous).
  3. Be computer literate.
  4. Have strong problem-solving abilities.
  5. Possess communication skills effective at all organizational levels.

POSITION DETAILS:

1. PLANT DEPARTMENT – Industrial Engineer Graduate in Training

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist current Industrial Engineer and Plant Manager with day-to-day activities, essential duties, and responsibilities.

Job Requirements:

  • National Diploma: Industrial Engineering.
  • Minimum 1-2 years related experience (preferably in an Automotive Environment).
  • Proficiency in Office Word and Excel; experience in a technical manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD & SolidWorks CAD packages is advantageous.
  • Proven design skills in a working environment and a passion for a career in design.

2. QUALITY DEPARTMENT – Quality Graduate in Training

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and release inspections during receiving.
  • Create quality alerts & G8D’s; participate in scrap analysis meetings.
  • Assist with quality tests, open & track supplier claims.
  • Conduct monthly supplier performance reviews.
  • Assist with quality audits.

Job Requirements:

  • National Diploma: Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proficiency in Office Word and Excel.

3. MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT – Manufacturing Graduate in Training (x2)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and administrative support to the Department.

Job Requirements:

  • National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree: Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).

4. MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT (ASSEMBLY PLANT) – Maintenance Graduate in Training

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and administrative support to the Maintenance Department regarding planned and corrective maintenance of machinery and equipment.

Job Requirements:

  • National Diploma: Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Ability to use workshop tools and electrical testers.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Working Conditions:

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent walking or standing is required.
  • Use of hands for various tasks.
  • Visual inspections may be mandatory.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 15kgs.
  • Work may involve heights, use of ladders, uneven terrain, and confined/cramped areas.
  • Requirement to drive forklifts or boom lifts and may involve extended working hours occasionally.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to chemicals, noise, dust, temperature changes, and cramped areas may occur during work.
