Job Title: Agricultural Advisor: Crop Production
Placement: Various locations in Mpumalanga (see below for details)
Duration: 36 Months
Remuneration: R376,413 per annum (Level 08) + 37% in lieu of benefits

Job Requirements
The Agricultural Advisor: Crop Production positions require the following qualifications and experience:
- Qualification: A recognized agricultural qualification with Plant Production/Crop Science as a major at NQF level 8 (as determined by SAQA).
- Experience: At least two years of relevant agricultural experience.
- License: A valid driver’s license.
- Professional Registration: Registration with a professional body such as SACNASP is required.
In addition to the academic and professional requirements, applicants must possess the following skills:
- Strong knowledge of the Public Service Regulatory Framework (Public Service Act, Public Service Regulations & Public Finance Management).
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
- A deep understanding of Batho Pele principles and their implementation.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken formats.
- Experience in stakeholder and client liaison.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Excellent time management and the ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
As an Agricultural Advisor: Crop Production, you will be expected to:
- Mentoring and Supervision: Supervise and mentor Assistant Agricultural Advisors.
- Technical Support: Provide scientific and technical advice to both internal and external clients, ensuring the sustainable production of agricultural products.
- Government Projects: Provide technical support on government-funded projects such as CASP, PLAS, MESP/PKM, and others.
- Administrative Duties: Compile and submit required administrative reports and documentation.
- Sustainable Agriculture: Promote the sustainable production of agricultural products and assist in ensuring the success of agricultural stakeholders in the region.
