Background:
The Moses Kotane Research Institute (MKRI) is a provincial research agency of the KwaZulu-Natal Government, operating under the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA). The Institute seeks to appoint an Experiential Learner: Videographer to support the communications team with all digital communications functions. This role is critical in translating complex research into engaging visual stories, amplifying the Institute’s reach, and reinforcing its position as a leading research institution.

Requirements:
- The ideal candidate must be in possession of NQF7 qualification in Videography / Applied Arts in screen Arts and Technology or similar degree.
- A valid driver’s license will be an added advantage.
- Must have 0-2 years’ experience in videography, editing, and producing video content.
Essential knowledge, skills and competencies required:
Knowledge and understanding of:
- Video editing software
- Strong storytelling and visual composition skills
- Ability to work independently and with teams
- Report writing
- Creativity and Communications skills
- Advanced computer skills, including MS Office 365.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist MKRI brand visibility by providing photographic videography services
- Travel to all MKRI events to execute videographic duties
- Share edited videography on relevant social media pages
- Provide editing and photo printing as and when required
- Assist with other digital communications functions
- Proficiency with video editing software and camera equipment.
Disqualifiers:
- A candidate not meeting minimum requirements, and with a pending or Criminal Convictions /Pending or Disciplinary Records, will be disqualified.
