Liabilities:

The contestant will be responsible for:

  • Patient care (monitoring, feeding, handling and aiding with procedures etc);
  • Clinic Management (hygiene, stock control, drugstore orders, care of outfit, safety measures, charge wastes etc.);
  • Help with practical pupil training;
  • Communicating with guests, Deals representatives, Private interpreters and visiting scholars;
  • Help with practical demonstrations and help scholars and pupil nursers in performing certain tasks e.g. medication of drips;
  • Biosecurity and safety( insure norms, apply programs and report any safety issues)
  • Tone- development;
  • Being flexible to work in other sections in the OVAH; and
  • Performing shift duties.

Minimal Conditions

  • BVetNurse qualification
  • Registration as Veterinary Nurse with the South African Veterinary Council.

Needed capabilities (Chops, Knowledge and Behavioural Attributes)

  • Knowledge of small & large beast nursing procedures, biosecurity measures and procedures and running of all types of small creatures
  • Knowledge of ICU outfit
  • Knowledge of introductory individual Imaging outfit
  • Knowledge of theatre outfit and instruments
  • Scrupulous about detail, professional and a responsible person
  • Applicable language and communication chops
  • Organizing chops and a strong service exposure;
  • Physical mobility
  • Capability to work under pressure
  • Computer knowledge
  • Capability to work weekends and outside normal working hours when needed for nonstop service delivery in the sanitarium
  • Amenability to perform shift duties.

Added Advantages and Preferences

  • Registration with the Veterinary Nursing Association of South Africa.

  • All shortlisted campaigners may be needed to share in applicable chops assessments as part of the selection process. The periodic remuneration package will be commensurable with the contestant’s position of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines.
