Renosterberg Local Municipality: 2026 Finance Programme| Internships

Invitation from The Renosterberg Local Municipality for South African youths who aren’t presently working to join the Municipal Finance Management Internship Programme (MFMIP) for 2026.

Fixed Term: Two (2) years

Wage: R 120,000 per year (the exact quantum depends on whether you’re in your first or alternate year of the program).

About the programme

The MFMIP is a step ‑ by ‑ step training program that turns fresh university grads into people who know how a megacity’s finances work. You’ll be in the Budget and Treasury Office, where you’ll see how a megacity plans its plutocrat, keeps its accounts in order, and makes sure every expenditure follows the law. The program follows the rules in the Municipal Finance Management Act ( Act 56 of 2003). When you finish, you may be suitable to earn a qualification or credit in Municipal Finance Management, which is recognised by the government’s minimum skill norms.

Who can apply:

You need a 3 years Bachelor’s degree or a National Diploma in one of these subjects

  • Accounting
  • Economics
  • Finance
  • Risk Management
  • Auditing

Or a nearly affiliated field that deals with plutocrat. You must be between 21 and 35 times old. However, you have to take part in all corridor of the externship – the classroom or online assignments, the day ‑ to ‑ day work tasks, If you’re accepted.

Shortlisted aspirants must bring their original instruments to the interview.

What to learn:

During the externship you’ll be exposed to:

  • How a city budgets its plutocrat and plans for the unborn
  • The job of a Treasury, including how to manage cash inflow
  • How to prepare fiscal reports that follow the law
  • Principles of internal controls, threat operation, and auditing
