The ARC seeks to appoint a largely professed, educated and dynamic person to the ensuing position (s) at Vegetable, Industrial and Medicinal shops (ARC- VIMP), Roodeplaat, Pretoria.
Job Description
- Contribute to being exploration systems on DNA marker technologies including molecular parentage to support parentage programmes.
- Together with breeders, designs and tools molecular breeding exploration trials in support of the colorful parentage programmes.
- Keeps the division abreast with new developments on DNA marker technologies by reviewing new publications & exploration reports.
- Compiles own, and contributes to other progress reports( internal and external).
- Captures, analyses and interprets data.
- Contributes towards the creation of IP and PBR.
- Provides supervision and instructors postgraduate scholars, exploration technicians and sidekicks. Understands operation ofco-workers and mentees.
- Disseminates technology through peer- reviewed scientific papers, popular publications, etc.
- Compliance with mortal resource programs and procedures.
- Ensures compliance with SHE OHS programs and procedures.
Job Conditions
- MSc in Plant Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Genomics, Plant breeding or Genetics.
- Strong background and experience in molecular biology and factory molecular labels.
- Experience in the use of applicable inheritable data analysis tools.
- Accurate data collection chops and attention to detail.
- Operation chops including exploration design planning and time operation.
- Good communication (verbal & jotting) chops and liaison with guests, fellow scientists and support staff.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite especially Excel.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
