University of Fort Hare| Supply Chain Management: Internship Programme 2025

Programme Overview  

The SCM Internship Programme is a 12- month experimental  occasion for graduates who are interested in pursuing a career in public sector  force chain  operation. Interns will rotate through the four core SCM sections, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the end- to- end SCM value chain in a university setting. 

This  internship is ideal for  individualities seeking to  make practical experience, understand legislative  fabrics, and develop  executive and  logical chops within a public institution.  

Minimal Conditions:

Diploma/ Bachelor’s degree in:

  • Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or any applicable qualification( NQF6/ NQF7). 
  • No work experience  needed 
  • Technical and Systems Proficiency on MS,( Microsoft Suite – MS Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, & Visio) 

Skills needed 

  • Problem-  working chops 
  • Excellent communication and report writing 
  • Attention to detail and capability to work under pressure 
  • High  position of professionalism and confidentiality 
  • Excellent  concession 
  • Interpersonal and fierceness chops 

Added Advantages 

  • Plant exposure in procurement/ SCM( not  obligatory). 
  • Familiarity with ERP or procurement systems. 

Duties 

  • Help in the medication of procurement plans and demand vaticinations. 
  • Support end-  druggies in completing procurement requests and specifications. 
  • Help maintain demand  operation records and  help with  requirements analysis processes.
  • Help with the medication and administration of RFQs, tenders, and  shot attestation. 
  • Attend  shot specification and evaluation meetings as an bystander.
  • Insure compliance with SCM procedures and  help with citation evaluations.  Support in drafting, reviewing, and form of contracts.
  • Help with maintaining the contracts register and tracking expiry/ renewal dates. 
  • Help insure supplier compliance with contract terms and service  position agreements.
  • Help in processing  trip  importunities in line with the university’s  trip policy. 
  • Support booking and collaboration of academic and  executive  trip. 
  • Maintain  trip records and  attune supporting attestation. 

General Support 

  • Give  executive  backing across SCM functions.
  • Train and manage SCM attestation in  agreement with record- keeping  programs.
  • Share in  platoon meetings,  checkups, and internal reviews.
