About the Programme
The Artisan Development Programme (ADP) is designed to provide structured workplace learning and training to unemployed youth in the eThekwini Municipal area. Successful candidates will complete a trade-specific apprenticeship programme aligned with QCTO, SETA, and the National Artisan Moderating Body standards.

Duration: Up to 3 years
Placement: Human Resources: Centre of Excellence, 21 Archie Gumede Street, Durban, South Africa
Available Trades:
- Electrical
- Millwright
Minimum Requirements (Applicable to Both Trades):
- South African citizen with a valid ID
- Reside within eThekwini Municipality (Proof of residence required)
- Unemployed and aged between 18–35 years
- Must not have participated in a similar apprenticeship or development programme before
- Passionate and committed to the relevant trade
Meet one of the following educational qualifications:
For Electrical:
- N6 Certificate (including Electrical trade theory), or
- Technical Matric/Grade 12 with Mathematics, Physical Science/Engineering Science, and Electrical trade theory, or
- A relevant National Technical Diploma (S or N stream)
For Millwright:
- N6 in Mechanical Fitter or N2 in Millwright, or
- Technical Matric/Grade 12 with Maths, Physical Science, and Millwright-related theory, or
- A relevant National Technical Diploma (S or N stream)
Assessment & Training Details:
- Applicants will undergo verbal, written, and medical assessments
- Selected candidates will sign up for a full apprenticeship programme
- The programme will conclude with a Trade Test to become a qualified artisan

Clearly indicate the trade you’re applying for (e.g. ADP – Electrical or ADP – Millwright)
Step 3:
Submit the completed application form with supporting documents (ID, qualifications, proof of residence) to:
