Purpose of the Role
The role of Assistant Cashier is essential for the accurate collection, recording, and safe handling of cash transactions at the reserve. Candidates will support daily financial operations and contribute to effective revenue management.
Minimum Requirements:
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 with Mathematics or Accounting (or Grade 12 with a finance-related qualification)
- Computer literacy
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and report-writing abilities
- Ability to work with accuracy and integrity
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and safely store revenue generated at the reserve
- Facilitate regular banking as per approved schedules
- Reconcile cash with source documents
- Submit all source documents and deposit slips to Head Office
- Perform ad-hoc tasks like petty cash checks, inventory counts, and asset verifications
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure safekeeping of all documents
