Job description
Xivono Mining is offering five (5) Engineering Apprenticeship opportunities in the following trades:
• Electrician
• Millwrights
• Fitters
• Instrumentation
• Boilermaker
Minimum Requirements
• A minimum qualification of N2/Matric with Mathematics and Science and two relevant Trade-related subjects (with at least 50% in each subject); OR
• NCV Level 4 with 7 subjects (including Mathematics and Science) with a minimum of 50% per subject.
• Medically fit for the mining environment.
• Practical and logical mindset with an interest in equipment maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
• Attending to mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical breakdowns.
• Conducting regular inspections and maintenance of equipment.
• Fault-finding and troubleshooting on DCS, PLCs, AC, and DC drives.
• Performing preventative and corrective maintenance as per plant safety regulations.
• Analyzing breakdown causes and implementing solutions.
• Ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards.
• Reading, interpreting, and understanding electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Assisting in basic rigging and stage crew operations.
