Summary:

The role will have the responsibility of ensuring the architecting and the deployment of technology in area of responsible. Its primary purpose is to securely ensure that security standards are developed and maintained on a frequent basis and according to industry best practices and security Frameworks.

Job description
We are determined to build talent pipelines for our Stores and Distribution Centres and therefore we invite all suitably qualified and unemployed South Africans to apply for the 2025 TVET/Varsity Internship Opportunity.

We offer an 12-18-month internship programme which provides work experience in accordance with the student’s training programme (logbook requirements) from the institution. You will gain valuable work experience, explore career paths and be able to network with professionals in the field of study. During this time, you will be based in one of our Massmart Retail Stores (Gauteng, Western Cape or KwaZulu-Natal) and be exposed to the world of retail.

In addition to a qualification combined with relevant work experience, you’ll also gain business, personal and technical retail skills you can use across the business and throughout your career journey.

Requirements

  • South African Citizen
  • Completed a minimum of a N6 qualification (N6 Business Management, N6 Financial Management, N6 Human Resources) from a TVET college requiring 18 months in service training
  • Must be able to produce a certified copy of the N6 certificate as well as an In-service letter from the TVET college
  • Diploma in Business Management, Retail Business Management or Management
  • Completed a minimum of a Degree (BCom Retail Management, BCom General, BCom HR, BCom Accounting or BCom Business Management) qualification
  • Should not have been employed permanently with a single employer continuously for more than 1 year, must not be employed at the time of commencement of the program
  • Should not be studying full-time throughout the duration of the program
  • Should not currently or recently be registered on a SETA funded Program
  • Available and willing to work retail hours and on a fixed-term 12-18-month contract
