National Consumer Commission (NCC) invites South African unemployed graduates to apply for Externship Programme 2024 / 2025.

South African unemployed youth graduates between the ages of 18-35 who have not participated in any internship programme in both private and public sectors and require workplace experience are invited to apply.
Stipend: R7000.00 per month
Fixed-Term Period: 24 months

The National Consumer Commission is guided by Section 85 of the Consumer Protection Act.
The main function of the NCC is to enforce the CPA by:
- Improving consumer protection through education and awareness interventions,
- Improving compliance with the CPA through business guidance interventions,
- Receiving complaints concerning alleged prohibited conduct and dealing with them as prescribed by the provisions of the CPA,
- Monitoring the consumer goods and services market to prevent, detect and/ or prosecute contraventions,
- Conducting investigations against suppliers allegedly engaging in prohibited conduct,
- Issuing and enforcing compliance notices,
- Negotiating and concluding undertakings and consent orders,
- Referring any concerns regarding market share, anti-competitive behaviour or conduct that may be prohibited in terms of the Competition Act to the Competition Commission,
- Referring alleged offences in terms of the CPA to the National Prosecuting Authority, and
- Referring matters to the Consumer Protection Tribunal (Tribunal) and appearing before the Tribunal.
